National Genius Search Exam :
National Genius Search Examination – 2018 (NGSE) is a scientifically devised assessment tool to locate genius among children. It is an innovative approach for accelerated learning, developed more than 13 years of rigorous research and adaptability tests.

The NGSE leads to the prestigious National Genius Awards. There will be monetary benefits also with the National Genius Award for the upcoming registrations, those who have scored 100 percentile in NGSE Advanced.
The NGSE focuses on assessment for learning. It uses ‘Own the Ownership of Learning Concept’ (OOL Concept) to develop questions. These Questions brings in the required interest among students to take up the ownership of learning.
This approach ensures maximum learning in optimal time with deeper understanding and conceptual clarity. The multi tasked Enhanced MCQs (EMCQs) of NGSE improves rapid decision making skills in daily life.
The NGSE offers two scores for regular test takers – National Percentile Score (NPS) for current year and National Benchmark Score (NBS), a derived cumulative score for three or more years.
Choice of Test Date for NGSE Mains – 2018:
Phase 1:
NGSE Mains 2018 will be held on Tuesday, 26th September 2017 and on Thursday, 30th November 2017. Schools can choose a date as per their convenience.
Phase 2:
NGSE Advanced 2018, will be held only once, on Sunday, 25th February 2018.
Phase I : NGSE Mains 2018
NGSE Mains is a single test comprises of multiple choice questions to be answered in 90 minutes. The NGSE comprises of questions with one or more right options, a series of right combinations and matching etc.
Mathematics and Science are the major components of NGSE up to class X. There will be a few application oriented General Knowledge questions too. See detailed syllabus under downloads section of the website for more details.
Marking the answers:
Students will be given Student Response Sheet (SRS) wherein the right answers are to be marked by darkening the circles using BLACK PEN. Please note that answers once marked cannot be changed later using eraser or white ink. Such corrections if any will be treated as wrong answers.
The NGSE Mains may have negative marking. Students are advised to read the instructions given in the question booklet against EACH QUESTION, carefully. It is not necessary that the previous year’s questions indicate the current year’s question pattern.
Venue of NGSE:
Participating School will be the host for NGSE Mains subject to a minimum of 100 students from the school. In an unlikely event of a school having less than 100 participants, the nearest center may be allocated by National Genius Search Foundation.
However, relatively new schools can get their school as a center even if the numbers of participants are less than 100, provided they take prior permission by writing to us at ngse@ngsfindia.org
NGSE Advanced Examination will be conducted at selected centers by National Genius Search Foundation, most probably in your city / locality within 300kms. Qualified participants should make their own arrangements to appear for the NGSE Advanced Examination at those centers.
Syllabus of NGSE 2018:
For Class IV – X:
The NGSE for Class IV to X are drawn from Mathematics and Science of the respective class. The NGSE also includes a few questions on General Knowledge related to scientific aspects.
For Class XI & XII:
Students in Class XI & XII can choose any two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Economics, Business Studies and Accountancy.

NGSE questions are mainly based on daily life experiences. Success depends on answering them by grasping the underlying concepts. The questions do not follow a fixed structure or pattern. Students are advised to comprehend instructions for each question before they attempt to answer them.
