Prematric Scholarship Scheme For Minority Communities Students:
Applications are invited by the Ministry of Minority Affairs for award of Pre- Matric Scholarship for the year 2015-16 from students belonging to minority communities notified by the Central Government, and who pursuing studies from class I to X in Government/ recognized private Schools / Institutes.

Financial assistance will be given to eligible students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination and where the annual income of his/her parents/ guardians from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh. A scholarship holder under this Scheme will not avail any other scholarship / stipend for pursuing his / her studies and will not be given to more than two students in a family.

Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years will depend upon the successful completion of the courses during the preceding years. 30% of scholarships are reserved for female candidates. If enough women candidates are not available, then male candidates would be selected.

The Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme with 100% Central Funding. From 2015-16, the scholarship amount to students under Pre-matric scholarship scheme will be disbursed directly to the beneficiaries bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode Applications for Scholarships as well as for Renewals (who were granted Pre- matric scholarship for previous years) in the prescribed format, along with the following documents, should be submitted to the Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration, Goalghar, Port Blair latest by 31.07 .2015 through the Heads of the Schools / Institutes of the student.

Required Documents:
a) One copy of passport size photograph with signature, pasted on the application form
b) Attested copy of Mark Sheet / certificates of previous final examination
c) Income declaration certificate from the concerned Authority.
d) Minority community declaration certificate. (not required in case of renewal application).
e) Proof of permanent residence (not required in case of renewal application)
i) Attested copy of Aadhar card.
g) Attested copy of bank account number along with IFSC code of the bank.
h) Receipt in acknowledgement of scholarship in the previous year duly countersigned by the Head of the school / institute. (for renewal case)

Under the Pre-Matric scholarship, financial assistance is given as:
(i) admission fee from class VI to X @ Rs. 500/ – per annum subject to actual for hostellers as well as for day scholars.
(ii) Tuition fee from class VI to X @ Rs. 350/- per month subject to actual for hostellers as well as for day scholars.
(iii) Maintenance allowance will be payable for a period of not exceeding 10 months in an academic year @ Rs. 100 / – per month for day scholars for a student from class I to V.
(iv) Maintenance allowance for student for class VI to X will be @ Rs. 600/ – per month subject to actual for hostellers and @ Rs. 100 / – per month for day scholars.

Application Procedure:
Class I to VIII :
Students of class I to VIII are requested to collect the forms from their respective schools or from the Directorate’s off ce on any working day

Class IX & X:
Students of classes IX & X will have to apply for the Scholarshiplonline in the dedicated scholarship portal under URL: www.scholarships.govin.

No offline applications will be accepted from students of class IX & X

Note:
Non-submission of above said declaration/ documents, unsigned, incomplete application shall be liable to be rejected without assigning any reason whatsoever.
