Engineering Watch Fellowship 2015 :
Engineering Watch, India’s most prestigious magazine dedicated to engineering community, offers Fellowships which is conferred upon 1000 Students every year from across the country who would be taking up Engineering Education. These Engineering Watch Fellows thereby become role models for the students of their batch, thereby spreading the contagion of excellence far and wide. The top 10 fellows are recognized as EW LAUREATES; the next top 90 as EW SCHOLARS; while the remaining have the title of EW FELLOWS.

We also provide these fellows, mentors with whom they stay in touch through emails and telephonic conversation. The mentor gives his/her brief report on the mentee’s performance elucidating his/her observations and suggestions on a quarterly basis.

The ceremony on 15th June at Seminar Hall, IIT Delhi which was presided by Shri Goradhan Bhai Patel, teacher of Indian Prime Minister- Shri Narendra Modi marked the culmination of first edition of Engineering Watch fellowship 2014. Around 100 students from across India selected through a rigorous 2 stage process were offered fellowship and students were recognized as Engineering Watch Laureats, Scholars and Fellows. Almost all the students were accompanied by their proud parents. Amidst the chancellor and chairman of India’s leading university, Dy Commission – Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Dy Secretary CISCE had also joined-in in recognizing the engineering aspirants. 10 school boards, and close to 20 engineering campuses were part of the 7 month long campaign. All the students got a mentor to guide them for their next 4 years of academic life. The mentors participated with great enthusiasm from across India from leading industry, PSUs,Defence establishments etc

With Fellowship 2015 Engineering Watch is further strengthening its outreach, An early start of the program will ensure more wider participation of students and more involved engagement of about 8 months.

As was done in last year, this year also Engineering watch will be ensuring a huge media presence through Press releases in 11 local languages. Almost 50-60 local leading dailies will be engaged in this mammoth exercise. This year Engineering Watch plans to reach out to around 1lac engineering aspirants in its selected 100 districts. We also invite campuses in these 100 districts to come forward and use this platform to engage with the prospective engineers. The academic committee gets to interview all the nominated students at the campus for their final round of selection. The Final event will be kept in April end after looking at the board timetable.

We invite you to participate in this massive exercise and benefit out of this one of the largest outreach program to engineering aspirants.

Process :
1. School Principal Nominates the students for EW Fellowship by filling in the form at www.ewfellowship.in/nomination.
2. The nominated students get email confirmation from EW Fellowship Secretariat.
3. The nominated students fill in a Comprehensive Personal Portfolio at ewfellowship.in/portfolio giving detailed information about their academic & non-academic pursuits.
4. The nominated students respond to the EW Fellowship Questionnaire Online at ewfellowship.in/questionnaire.
5. The responses are screened by the EW Fellowship Secretariat and shortlisted candidates are invited for Personal Screening Round at different locations across the country. The shortlisted students would be notified.
6. A senior panel of Engineering Faculty would grill the shortlisted student around the responses fed into the questionnaire.
7. One of the parent/guardian would be allowed to be a part of this Personal Screening as a Witness. His/her signatures would be taken up on the evaluation sheet as a gesture of transparency & respect.
8. The final merit list of the nominees would be created and each one of the Engineering Watch Fellows would be communicated personally.
9. The selected Engineering Watch Fellows would be invited for a gala ceremony at New Delhi.
10. Each Engineering Watch Fellow would get a personal web-page duly maintained by EW Fellowship Secretariat whereby all his/her details would be kept and updated periodically.
11. The pool of mentors (www.ewmentors.in) would be given the choice of selecting one or the other Engineering Watch Fellows for mentorship.
12. Engineering Watch Mentors would thereby be available to the Engineering Watch Fellows for pro-active support and mentoring. The onus of seeking support from the Mentors would however be primarily with the Mentees.
13. The performance of the mentees would be evaluated on a quarterly basis till the completion of their academic programme.

1. What is Engineering Watch Fellowship?:
Engineering Watch Fellowship identifies and nurtures 1000 Engineering aspirants every year from across the country and offer them fellowship-mentorship. For selecting them EW reachs out to 12th class school students nationally with the help of schools chains and school boards. The program is hugely supported by school boards, government, industry and PSUs.

2. How can 12th class students become Engineering Watch fellows/ scholars/ /laureats?:
A notification will be sent to all the leading schools across India through CBSE, ICSE and state school boards in the month of oct-nov. School principals are asked to nominate names of 5 best students who would be pursuing engineering education the year 2015. These students then have to attempt an open book written test followed by a personal interview at campuses. These campuses which are interview venues are mostly located in the same district of their school. The selected students are thus called in to a final grand ceremony in Delhi in the month of Apr-May and are offered fellowships. Students from across India are invited with their parents. Many school board heads also participate in the event. Last academic year Shri Goradhan Bhai Patel, teacher of Shri Narendra Modi was the chief guest.

The academic and other co-curricular accomplishments of these 1000 fellows are duly mentored & monitored by Industry Experts and Senior Academics during the four years of their engineering so that they can fine tune their studies and thereby shape up their careers in the right direction. These Engineering Watch Fellows thereby become role models for the students of their batch.

The Engineering Watch Fellows constitute an elite coterie of role model engineering students who are mentored by a privileged Mentorship Board comprising of eminent Academicians and Professionals which steer through their entire academic life spanning 4 years of engineering. Their transcripts and other co-curricular activities are duly monitored on a periodic basis.

They also constitute a core selected sample of Engineering Students whose opinions, performances, challenges help the unfurling of various policies and programmes for augmenting quality of Engineering Education in the country. They are also given innumerable internships, excursions and sojourn opportunities.

These fellows are also be a eligible for special Tuition Waiver Schemes offered by various colleges; for scholarship schemes offered by various corporate foundations and community based endowments and a host of other benefits which are communicated to them from time to time.
