Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship :

Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of Odisha invites Online applications for award of Merit-cum-Means based scholarship for the year 2015-16 to meritorious students of Odisha belonging to the notified Minority Communities (i.e. Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Zoroastrian (Parsi) and Jain) pursuing Technical/Professional Courses at Under Graduate / Post Graduate level in recognized Institutions under recognized Universities of Odisha and other recognized Universities of other States of India.

Unlike previous year implementation of the Merit-cum-Means based scholarship Scheme will be done through common National Scholarship Web portal of the Govt. of India under URL

Eligibility:
1. Students must be permanent resident of Odisha.
2. Income ceiling of parents shall not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum.
3. Minimum eligibility mark is 50%, secured in the last final examination of the Board/ University .
4. 30% scholarship is earmarked for Girl students.

Documents to be enclosed:
1.One Passport size photograph with signature of the student thereon(for Fresh Scholarship)
2.Certificates in support of educational qualification/Income/
3. Self-attested copy of the 1st page of Savings Bank Pass Book mentioning correct A
4. Self-certification of the students towards community certificate

Time Line:
Fresh Scholarship:
1. Submission of online applications by the students – 01-06-2015 to 30-09-2015
2. Scrutiny of online applications by the Institute – 01-06-2015 to 20-10-2015
3. Scrutiny of online applications by State – 01-06-2015 to 31-10-2015
4. Generation of Merit list & submission of proposal by State – 01-11-2015 to 05-11-2015

Renewal Scholarship:
1. Submission of online applications by the students – 01-06-2015 to 15-11-2015
2. Scrutiny of online applications by the Institute – 01-06-2015 to 25-11-2015
3. Scrutiny of online applications by State – 01-06-2015 to 05-12-2015
4. Generation of Merit list & submission of proposal by State – 01-06-2015 to    07-12-2015

Eligible students are advised to fill up their application ONLINE by accessing www.scholarships.gov.in (but not www.momascholarship.gov.in)

Uploading of documents by students are made mandatory both for Fresh and Renewal cases. Scrutiny of online applications on the basis of the uploaded documents will be done by the respective District/State. Only Online Applications under the scheme will be accepted and no request for accepting Offline applications will be entertained.

The students who have availed MCM scholarship for the year 2014-15 and not changed their course shall apply for RENEWAL scholarship. Other applicants to apply for FRESH scholarship.

Applicants are advised to be very careful to mention the accurate Bank Account related Information in the specified Box of the online application. In case of any wrong entry or mismatch of the SB A/c No.,this Deptt. will not be held responsible for mis-credit / diversion of the scholarship

As Aadhaar seeding of Bank A/c may be made mandatory by Govt. in future for sanction of Scholarship in favour of the beneficiary, students on priority basis may go for Aadhaar enrolment an also to go for seeding of Aadhaar with Bank A/c.
