Post Matric Scholarship For Minority Students :

Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of Odisha invites Online applications for award of Post Matric Scholarship for the year 2015-16 to meritorious students of Odisha belonging to the notified Minority Communities (i.e. Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Zoroastrian (Parsi) and Jain) studying in recognized Institutions inside Odisha and other States within India from Class XI up to Ph.D Courses.

Unlike previous year, the online implementation of the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme will be done through common National Scholarship Web portal of the Govt. of India under URL www.scholarships.gov.in

Eligibility :
1. Students must be permanent resident of Odisha.
2. Income ceiling of parents shall not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakh per annum.
3. Minimum eligibility mark is 50%,secured in the last final examination of the Board/ University
4. 30% scholarship is earmarked for Girl students.

Documents to be enclosed :
1. One Passport size photograph with signature of the student thereon(for Fresh Scholarship)
2. Certificates in support of educational qualification/Income/Residence duly attested,
3. Self-attested copy of the 1st page of Savings Bank Pass Book mentioning correct A/C no, IFSC code etc.
4. Self-certification of the students towards Community Certificate

Time Line (Fresh/Renewal Scholarship):
Fresh Scholarship:
1. Submission of online applications by the students – 01-06-2015 to 15-09-2015
2. Scrutiny of online applications by the Institute – 01-06-2015 to 05-10-2015
3. Scrutiny of online applications by State – 01-07-2015 to 15-10-2015
4. Generation of Awarded list & submission of proposal to GoI by State – 16-10-2015 to 18-10-2015

Renewal Scholarship:
1. Submission of online applications by the students – 01-06-2015 to 10-10-2015
2. Scrutiny of online applications by the Institute – 01-06-2015 to 31-10-2015
3. Scrutiny of online applications by State – 01-07-2015 to 08-11-2015
4. Generation of Awarded list & submission of proposal to GoI by State – 01-07-2015 to 11-11-2015

Application Procedure:
Eligible students are advised to fill up their application Online by accessing scholarships.gov.in (but not momascholarship.gov.in). Uploading of documents is mandatory for Renewal cases while for Fresh cases hard copies of documents will be submitted by the student to the respective Institutes. Scrutiny of online applications in case of Renewal Case will be done on the basis of uploaded documents ; while in case of Fresh cases Scrutiny will be done on the basis of submitted Hardcopies. Only Online Applications under the scheme will be accepted and no request for accepting Offline applications will be entertained.

The students who have availed Post-Matric scholarship for the year 2014-15 and not changed their course shall apply for RENEWAL scholarship. Other applicants to apply for FRESH scholarship.

Applicants are advised to be very careful to mention the accurate Bank Account related Information in the specified Box of the online application. In case of any wrong entry or mismatch of the SB A/c No., this Deptt. will not be held responsible for mis-credit / diversion of the scholarship

As Aadhaar seeding of Bank A/c may be made mandatory by Govt. in future for sanction of Scholarship in favour of the beneficiary, students on priority basis may go for Aadhaar enrolment an also to go for seeding of Aadhaar with Bank A/c.
