Post Matric Scholarship Scheme For Minority Students 2015-16:

Online applications are invited from students belonging to minority communities (Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Parsis & Jains) pursuing studies in Govt. or Private Senior Secondary Schools/Colleges/Universities including residential institutes, Polytechnics, ITI’s, Industrial Training Centres affiliated with NCVT, approved by an competent authority, for awarding scholarships under Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for the session 2015-16, on website.

Eligibility Criteria/ Conditions for Scholarship:

i) Annual income of the parent or guardian of the student should not exceed Rs. 2.00 lacs from all sources.
ii) Scholarship is to be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination.
iii)  A Scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/ stipend for pursuing the same course.
iv) The student should be resident of Punjab State and regular in attendance.
v) Continuation (Renewal) of the scholarship will be paid to those students who secure not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination.
vi) Income certificate should be on self certification basis by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper for self-employed parents/guardian and from employer for employed parents/guardian.

Rate of Scholarship:

1. Admission and tuition fee for class XI and XII:
Hosteller : Actual, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 7,000/- p.a.
Day-Scholar : Actual, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 7,000/- p.a.

2. Admission and course/tuition fee for technical vocational courses of XI and XII level. (includes expenses for study material etc.):
Hosteller : Actual, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 10,000/- p.a.
Day-Scholar : Actual, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 10,000/- p.a.

3. Admission and tuition fee for under graduate, post graduate:
Hosteller : Actual, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 3,000/- p.a.
Day-Scholar : Actual, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 3,000/- p.a.

4. Maintenance allowance for 10 months only in an academic year from admission date (includes expenses for study material etc.):
i) Classes XI and XII including technical and vocational courses of this level:
Hosteller : Rs. 380/- p.m.
Day-Scholar : Rs. 230/- p.m.

ii) Courses other than technical and professional courses at under graduate and post graduate level:
Hosteller : Rs. 570/- p.m.
Rs. 300/- p.m.

iii) M.Phil and Ph.D (For those researchers who are not awarded any fellowship by university or any other authority):
Hosteller : Rs. 1200/- p.m.
Day-Scholar : Rs. 550/- p.m.

Time-Lines for Fresh/Renewal Applications:
Last date for submission of online applications to the Schools/Colleges/Institutes for fresh scholarships by students is 15th September, 2015 and hardcopies to the Welfare Department by Schools/Colleges/Institutes is 25th September, 2015. Similarly for renewal scholarships for students is 10th October, 2015.

How to Apply:

a) The eligible students can apply online on the website www.scholarships.gov.in. Students will forward their applications online to the Schools/Colleges/institutions and fresh students will take a print out of the same. This print out along-with all requisite documents (as prescribed in the print out) will be submitted to the concerned institution. Student will get a temporary ID, which he/she will retain/ keep with him/her for any further correspondence etc. Renewal candidates will upload the prescribed scanned documents at the time of apply.
b) The Schools/Colleges/institutions will scrutinize & forward all these applications online by login on the same website with User IDs and Passwords (provided to them earlier by Welfare Department) by 5th October, 2015 for fresh and 31st October, 2015 for renewal applications.

Note :

i) Students/Institutes are advised to read the “FAQ’s and Information For Institutes” available on the home-page of the website carefully before filling online applications and scrutiny by the institutes.
ii) Institutes will ensure that only those online applications be forwarded to Welfare Department where hard copies with documents are submitted by the students and certified by them.
iii) If hard copies are not received by Welfare Department within the prescribed date, the online applications shall be rejected.
iv) No manual application will be entertained.
