2.Scholarship for Top Class Education for Student with disabilities (for PG level studies-in specified institution of govt. of India in the department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India through National e-scholarship portal.

You are aware that Pre-matric and Post-matric scholarships and scholarship for top class education for Students with Disabilities have been administered through National e- scholarship portal from 2015-2016 onwards. Details are available in the website- scholarships.gov.in.

All the above schemes are Cential Sector schemes i.e. the entire amount of scholarship is borne by the Govt.of India. In order to apply online, students should, visit the, website through URL. Due to lack of awareness acceptance of the three scholarships under National scholarships scheme was minimum in quota in the yeat 2015-16.

On line applications of students are forwarded to this end (State Nodal officer) by the District Nodal officers(DSWo in the districts and orthoist, o/o Commissioner (Disabilities), West Bengal in Kolkata). The Head of the Institutes should obviously forward applications on line to the District Nodal officer in time.

I would request you to look into the matter so that eligible students are made aware about the scheme by the concerned officials of your Department and eligible students with disability are not deprived of the benefits of the scheme. PPT & scheme details, prepared by GoI are attached herewith for wide publicity. Please note that last date for on line registration is 30.09.16.

I would request you to see that the concerned officials of your Department take necessary action and manage wide publicity of the scheme among the Students with Disabilities through the Educational Institutions.
