DST Inspire Fellowship:

Innovation in Scientific Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE), a Scheme of the Government of India, offers standing opportunity for pursuing Doctoral Research at any recognized University or Institute in India through Fellowships at the level same as National Eligibility Test (NET) qualified candidates.

Call For Applications:
Applications are invited from:
i) INSPIRE Scholars after completion of their post-graduation degree in Science areas and
ii) University level First Rank holders in the Post-graduate Degrees in Basic/ Applied Sciences/ Engineering OR Graduate Degree in Medicine only at any recognized Indian University or Institute/ Statutory Body in India for award of Inspire Fellowship.

Eligibility:
i) INSPIRE Scholar having secured minimum 65% marks (or CGPA equivalent) in aggregate at M.Sc. or Integrated M.S./ M.Sc.

ii) 1st Rank Holder in each Post-Graduate (PG) level examinations in Basic/ Applied Sciences including Engineering Sciences, Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Agricultural sciences and Veterinary Sciences from any recognized University and academic Institutions in India.

Similarly, 1st Rank Holders at the Graduate Level Examination in Medicine only conducted by a University/ Institution in India are also eligible to apply. 1st Rank should be of obtained in minimum batch size of 10 students in that university level examination with minimum aggregate of 65% marks (or CGPA equivalent) of the entire course/ program

Amount, Number & Duration of Fellowship:
It offers financial support in the form of a Fellowship equivalent to NET/ GATE fellowship (Junior Research Fellowship / Senior Research Fellowship) and research grant to the candidate. There is a provision of total 1000 Final offers of INSPIRE Fellowships to be given every year to eligible students and each Fellowship is tenable for a maximum period of five years or completion of their PhD degree, whichever is earlier.

This Fellowship shall not be available to pursue M.Sc. or M.Phil. or M. Tech. course during pursing in any such Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D./ M. Phil.-Ph.D./ M. Tech.-Ph.D. courses. However, continuation of the Fellowship for once selected candidates is based on satisfactory performance certified by the institution as per stipulated GOI guidelines for such Fellowship.

Selection Procedure:
Selection followed by offering of INSPIRE Fellowship to eligible student is done in two stages i.e.
i). Provisional Offer to those who did not have admission in to Ph.D. course during application stage and
ii). Final Offer to those who have admitted in to Ph.D. prior to submitting application.

Students need to apply through On-line mode only. To apply On-line, please visit the website: https://www.online-inspire.gov.in/ and follow the process as prescribed therein (Guidelines for Filling up). The On-line application submissions will be commenced on 6th September 2016 and will be available up to 5th Octoberber 2016. No Print out of Application copy needs to be sent to us.
