In pursuance of Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India’s e-mail dated 19/08/2016 and in continuation of this Directorate’s Notification of even number dated 10/08/2016, it is hereby informed to all concerned that timeline for submission of online applications under Minority Pre-Matric and Minority Post-Matric scholarships for the year, 2016-17 under the National Scholarship Portal (NSP 2.0) has been extended as detailed below.

How to Apply

The following points are to be noted while applying Minority scholarships, 2016-17 under NSP2.0:
i) Student will register at NSPPortal to get the Login Credentials and fill-up the entry form by entering complete details to get the Registr.ation ID. Renewal student need not register again;

ii} Aadhaar number is mandatory from the Academic Session 2016-2017 onwards;

iii} For School Education scholarships, the application form may be filled in by students themselves or by the Head of Institutions while for Higher Education scholarships, filling of application entirely be handled by the students themselves;

iv) Heads of Institutions are to ensure seeding of Aadhaar and bank accounts by the students of their respective institutions in the application forms.

In case of non-availability of Aadhaar by a large section of students, efforts are to be made by the institutions to organize Aadhaar enrolment camps and/or encourage the students to get enrolled for Aadhaar.

Deputy Commissioners are to playa pivotal role in Aadhaar enrolment campaign which is to be taken up in mission mode. The details of Aadhaar enrolment centres are available in the resident portal of UIDAI (resident.uidai.net.in);

v) Records filled in by the students will automatically appear under the login of respective institutions.

Institutions shall enter the portal with their login credentials in order to examine the beneficiary details and shall validate, authorize and approve the student records using their Digital Signature and submit the validated data at the NSP Portal.

Institutions are to take immediate action to procure Digital Signature if not already done and State Education Departments/Labour & Employment Department are to take up issuance of Digital Signature to all concerned in mission mode.

vi} Nodal Officer of the respective institutions will be solely responsible to enter the accurate DIAS/HIAS Code of the institution and all courses, programs, etc. offered by them. This will help the beneficiarv student to select his/her institution in a single click at the NSPPortal;

vii) Once the student data is approved by the respective institutions, the data will autornaticatlv move to State Education Department (S + U) and State Labour & Employment Department (for Man pur State) Concerned departments through their Login Credentials can view the entire data and validate.

In case of any discrepancy in data, State Departments should either call the concerned institutions to correct the data or may reject the same;

Scholarships Amount

Supporting documents for scholarships amount less than Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty thousand only) to be kept at institution level and for scholarships amount more than Rs.50,000/- are to be uploaded on the

Validation and authentication process be completed by the respective institutions within a period of 30 days. Within this period respective institutions will get the corrected information (if incomplete or erroneous) and approve the same. It is mandatory to consider all beneficiaries;
